Ronald J. Lascoe, DMD
Dr. Ronald J. Lascoe received his DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He then did a general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles where he remained to complete a residency in periodontics. He was the chief dental resident and preceded to be the outstanding resident in 1985. For several years he taught at UCLA and was the head of Periodontics at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey.
Dr. Lascoe is a member of the following associations: American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and the California Society of Periodontists. He holds licenses in California to practice dentistry and for providing conscious sedation. Dr. Lascoe is married and has two daughters. He and his family live in the San Fernando Valley where he grew up. While not working, Dr. Lascoe enjoys hiking, reading and being a great dad.

Marc Y. Waki, DDS
Dr. Marc Waki attended UCLA for both of his undergraduate and graduate studies, receiving his BA in Chemical Engineering in 1982 and his DDS at the School of Dentistry in 1986. After UCLA, he completed a one-year hospital residency at the Palo Alto, Veteran Administration Medical Center, and a two-year periodontal residency at the West Los Angeles, Veteran Administration Medical Center. He has taught at the UCLA School of Dentistry, and the West Los Angeles Dental Hygiene program. He has also been the team leader of various study clubs for the past ten years. Topics range from dental implants, comprehensive, esthetic and complex dental treatment, and multi-disciplinary treatment planning.
Dr. Waki is currently a member of the Straumann Dental Implant Chairmens Club/Platinum Level, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the California Society of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology. Besides holding a license in California for practicing dentistry, he also holds a license for IV conscious sedation. Dr. Waki is happily married with two sons and a daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, staying in shape, taking his annual vacation to Yosemite, and spending time with his family.

Taylor M. Hoang, DDS
Dr. Hoang attended the University of California, Irvine on scholarship as a Regents, Foundation, and University Scholar and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She belonged to the Dean’s Honor List and the Golden Key National Honor Society while at UC Irvine. She attended and received her DDS degree at UCLA School of Dentistry in 1996. While there, she received the American Society for Geriatric Dentistry Crest Award, UCLA Section of Geriatric Dentistry Award, and the June and Paul Ehrlich Geriatric Dentistry Award for the top graduating senior. She then moved on to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for her Implant and Periodontal residency with a Rackham Graduate Fellowship and an Abigail Marie Shaw Lawler Scholarship. There, she learned the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques including placement of local antimicrobial therapy, tissue regeneration, periodontal plastic surgery, dental implant placement, and sinus augmentation. Dr. Hoang earned top honors including the Sigurd Ramjford Award for Excellence in Periodontics, given to the top graduating resident(s).
In private practice, Dr. Hoang proceeded to earn her Diplomate status and is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. As a result, she is board certified. She belongs to the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, Academy of Osseointegration (implant association), American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Fernando Valley Dental Society.
Although she has lived most of her life in Orange County where her parents still reside, she is currently living in the San Fernando Valley with her son and daughter and enjoying the many milestones in their lives.

Vahe Nakashyan, DDS, MDS
Dr. Vahe Nakashyan is a Los Angeles native, of Armenian and Greek descent. He earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Southern California (USC), receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, then a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. He practiced as a registered dental hygienist for a few years in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, CA. He was a clinical instructor at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC undergraduate clinic, Department of Periodontology, where he also earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
In 2013, Dr. Nakashyan began his residency in Periodontology at the Dunn Dental School of UTHSC, and the Memphis VA Medical Center. He was also a candidate for a Masters in Dental Science (MDS) from the Graduate Medical Education department at UTHSC. He successfully completed his residency, earning a certificate in Periodontology, as well as an MDS. He was the Chief Resident from 2015-16. He is awaiting publication of his research on “Vitamin D Attenuation of Inflammatory Cytokine Production by Gingival Fibroblasts,” for which he has received awards and recognition.
Dr. Nakashyan is also a member of Dental Care for Children, which is a non-profit organization that provides free dental care for underserved communities in Mexico, United States, and Haiti. On his free time, he enjoys exercising, practicing judo, and traveling.

Drs. Lascoe, Waki & Hoang belong to Straumann’s Chairman Club as a result of the high volume of implants their office places each year. As a result, they are invited to all of Straumann’s special lectures. They also lead the Spear Study Club, which meets once a month with other general dentists and specialists to discuss complex dental cases.

Cynthia Arango (Office Manager)
Some people are fascinated with the dental industry and some people are interested in becoming leaders. Cynthia was meant to accomplish both and because of this, we are proud to have her as our Office Manager. Originally from the San Pedro, South Bay region, she has been in the dental field for a total of 11 years. The first time she had her digital x-rays taken, she knew there was something unique about dentistry and she desired to learn everything about it. Cynthia appreciates people and being of assistance any way she can, one patient at a time and one phone call at a time. Since we are in the digital age, going chartless is a project she projects and promises to be highly beneficial to our patients, staff members and doctors. She has studied Dentrix hoping to become a certified trainer, which gave her a much better understanding of dental software. Her enjoyable hobbies include listening to music, dancing and dedicating time with friends and family. Her knowledge, compassion, and leadership are highly respected. We look forward to progressive projects Cynthia has in store for us here at Burbank Perio.
Nereyda Nuno (Treatment Coordinator)
Nereyda has been in the dental field since 2001. Her front and back office skills have allowed her to experience a true feel for dentistry and what it entails. Working with patients and understanding the daily activities excite her. The best part of her day is helping people find a way to keep up their regular visits and pay for their procedures. In the past, Nereyda volunteered to help underprivileged children and families with free dental work. Her hobbies include photography and making fun scrapbooks for family and friends. She is also happily married with one son and we are thrilled to have her on our team.
Valerie Vera (Hygiene Coordinator)
Valerie has lived in San Fernando Valley all her life. She always knew she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field growing up. She found herself gaining an interest in the dental field when she would visit the dental office as a kid frequently. She is a certified Dental Assistant and received her license at Bryman College in Reseda, California. Valerie is a big sweet tooth, she loves her Coca-Cola and has it by her side every day. A fun fact about Valerie is that she has been in the dental field since she was 16. She started as a volunteer for a couple of hours after school during her junior year in high school. We are happy to have her on our team.
Yulia Nikitina (Administrative Assistant)
Yulia is originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. She has lived in California for 8 years. She loves helping and taking care of people, which made her realize she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. She loves the hands-on work dentistry has to offer. Her dentist while growing up actually encouraged her to get into dentistry to invest in her craft. She attended Pavlov State Medical University in Saint-Petersberg and graduated as a Dentist in 2007. She received her Bachelors and studied there for 5 years. In her spare time, she spends time with her Husband, kids, and God. She actively teaches Sunday school to the children at her church once a month. Yulia likes to spend time with her family by taking road trips and one of their favorite places to drive to is to the beach.
Cathy Meyers (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Cathy Meyers (RDH) – Cathy joined the practice in 1987. With her tremendous amount of experience, she has earned herself a strong patient following. This is also due to her caring treatment towards her patients. She knows all her patients on a first name basis and she focuses on improving their oral health and keeping their teeth healthy for life. She enjoys traveling, photography, crocheting and spending time with the family. Cathy has always been a strong and special asset to the practice.
Anna Kiredzhyan (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Anna graduated from the USC Dental Hygiene program in 2008. Her training experience and volunteering assisted establishments such as The Children’s Dental Center and Skid Row. She realized that aid and guidance towards the community were necessary. Dentistry also runs in her family, being that her brother and sister-in-law are both dentists. Anna also likes the interaction with patients and seeing unexpected and challenging cases. In the past, she has bungee jumped, skydived, and traveled to numerous countries including Armenia, Russia, Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Natalie Manoucherian (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Natalie Manoucherian graduated from the USC Dental Hygiene Program in 2006. Following graduation, she became a faculty member of the Division of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene department at the USC. Natalie is committed to providing educational and clinical services through the promotion of optimal oral health. She frequently attends dental conventions and regularly takes continuing education courses to further her knowledge of dentistry and its advancements. Her hobbies include traveling with her husband, photography, yoga, and bike riding.
Alexa Sasaki (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Alexa is originally from Southern California and attended West Coast University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. Her aunt was the one who inspired her to pursue dentistry and she was always drawn to the dental field as a child. She enjoys working with all of our staff members and enjoys assisting the patients. While Alexa was attending hygiene school she experienced a life-changing trip and traveled to Moldova, where they treated civilians with free dental work. In her spare time, she likes going to the gym and walking her dogs. We are excited to have her on our hygiene team.
Tannia Martinez (Oral Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant)
Tannia is originally from the San Fernando Valley. Her interest in dentistry began as a child. Her personal experiences and visits to the dentists made her realize that she wanted to make a difference in a positive way. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant Degree from Everest College in 2010. She enjoys the comradery of our office and looks forward to becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist in the future. Her interests include hiking, cycling and going to museums. Tannia’s pleasant personality comes across as she works with our patients and we really appreciate having her at Burbank Perio.
Yadira Navarrete (Registered Dental Assistant)
Yadira grew up in Sylmar, CA. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant degree from Everest College in 2010. She chose the dentistry field because she was fascinated by the technical aspect of it and the creativity that it allows you to demonstrate. The stable life environment and schedule also peeked her interest, especially since spending time with her family are important to her. What excites her about working at Burbank Perio is how friendly the team is. She appreciates the comradery our staff has to offer and her friendly demeanor is acknowledged. When she is not working, she enjoys playing softball with friends, relaxing at home and traveling to Mexico to see family. Her warm smile is recognized at our office.

Delia Gonzalez (Registered Dental Assistant)
Delia is a native to the San Fernando Valley. It was her first and only doctor that she’s had in her life that sparked an interest in dentistry. He always made her feel comfortable in a pretty scary situation. She attended Everest College in 2011, and is still seeking to gain more knowledge and more certifications in the dental field. Her family and her pets makes her genuinely happy. Delia is an animal lover. She has two cats, two dogs, three chickens, and one bird, for now. Since Delia loves animals so much, she actually wanted to become a Vet Tech if she didn’t do dentistry. We are happy to have her cheerful personality on our team.
